Meet Your Realtor: Chris Thomas

With nearly twenty years of real estate experience, Chris Thomas proudly describes his style as “people-first.” With experience in a variety of agencies, Chris found a home for himself at Smart Move. His family-orientated approach gives clients the keys to moving into any new chapter of life confidently. Join us as Chris discusses the inspirations and motivations behind his work. 

You’re approaching your twenty year anniversary as a realtor. How did you find yourself in the industry?

I was originally a supervisor at Sam’s Club. When my daughter was born, I knew I needed a career that gave me more time for her. So, I spent the next four years working while getting my real estate license. What I didn’t realize was that a whole new world was opening up for me. 

What was it about real estate that attracted you?

Real estate isn’t an easy career, but I found the career made it easy to be myself. It was a perfect fit. Being a realtor gave me the opportunity to help people and show love to others. I get to be of service to others by sharing the information I’ve learned with them to help them make the best decisions. 

It’s an exciting industry. There’s so much room to grow and learn. With each thing I learn, I get to help others feel more comfortable in their decisions. 

How would you describe your style of service? 

Unfortunately, many have experienced realtors who provide minimal information calling only when they need you to sign something. I am the opposite. I give my clients all the available information so that they are the ones making the decision. Not to mention, an informed, confident decision.

What are your goals when working with a new client?

My goal is to help clients center themselves in the moving process. I want to take the pressure off of them. Some clients might feel like their moving situation is a mess. My goal is to turn this “mess” into a masterpiece. 

You’ve had experience at other real estate companies. What was it about Smart Move that stuck out to you? 

Family is important to me, and it’s a value built into the core of Smart Move. It’s the right people with the right hearts. We’re a team built on trust and openness, which can be difficult to find in other agencies. 

What do you find most meaningful about your work?

Well, for me, it’s not work. It’s a privilege to be allowed inside of people’s lives. I consider my clients family and those relationships never go away. That’s why I take “family photos” at every closing. I get to help others reshape their entire lives. That means everything to me.
